Here’s what you missed in yesterday’s Apple Event

Yesterday’s Apple Event featured some exciting product announcements, here’s what you missed.


Apple announced its new third-generation AirPods. The new AirPods feature spatial audio, Adaptive EQ, and a one-touch setup that automatically pairs to all of your Apple devices. With a new design that includes a force sensor to help control your music and phone calls as well as a new low-distortion driver for powerful bass and clean high frequencies. The new AirPods include a contoured design that delivers sound directly to your ears and is both sweat and water-resistant.

HomePod mini

Apple announced that their HomePod mini will now be available in the colours yellow, orange, and blue.

Apple Music

Using Apple Music with Siri has been made much easier with Apple. They have announced Voice Plan, a brand new subscription plan for Apple Music. With Voice Plan, you use your voice and Siri to access songs, playlists, and radio stations on all of Apple’s devices.

M1 Pro & M1 Max

Apple announced its new chips: M1 Pro & M1 Max.

The M1 Pro chip is the first Pro chip designed for the Mac. This Chip features 32GB of unified memory, 70% faster CPU performance, faster GPU performance as well as 200GB/s memory bandwidth.

The M1 Max Chips builds on the M1 Pro chip and features 400GB/s memory bandwidth, 64GB of unified memory, and 4x faster GPU performance.


The MacOS is designed to take advantage of the unified memory architecture. The MacOS features improved machine learning performance as well as industry-leading security such as fast in-line encryption. With Apple silicon, users get more apps with improved performance. Apps can be recompiled to run natively as Universal and you are able to run iPhone and iPad apps on Mac.

MacBook Pro

Apple announced their highly anticipated MacBook Pro which is available in 2 sizes: 16 inches and 14 inches. The new MacBook Pro features an aluminum enclosure that optimises internal space and includes an advanced thermal system as well. The MacBook Pro has an improved display with a thinner border and larger screen. Apple has also replaced the touch bar on the keyboard with physical keys.

Apple re-introduced various ports that will be included in the new MacBook Pro. These include an HDMI port, 3 Thunderbolt 4 ports, and an SD card slot. You will also be able to charge the MacBook Pro using MagSafe 3. The new MacBook Pro features a Liquid Retina XDR display, spatial audio, and a 1080p FaceTime camera. It has 2x faster CPU performance and 64GB unified memory.
